Job Description

The painter 1 position is an introduction to paint spraying Milgard windows and doors. The Painter 1 position will learn, gun maintenance, paints mixing, paint delivery control. The painter 1 position will learn paint quality to include thickness, adhesion and color matching. Learn to use a respirator and PPE for proper paint spraying.


  • Create and execute MPS objectives; meet MPS commitments and work within the guidelines of MPS.
  • Reflect Milgard quality values and the Milgard Philosophy in all painter duties.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures related to all facets of job.
  • Proper usage of personal protective equipment.






Painter safety.

Be required to pass all respiratory requirements and PPE protection for painting in the spray booth.

Spray Gun Maintenance.

Responsible for gun cleaning and performance, identify when the spray gun is not performing properly and be able to fix the problem or alert a senior Painter for help.

Paint Mixing.

Responsible for proper paint mixing to include proper mixing ratios and water addition based on climate levels.

Paint Delivery.

Will be responsible for understanding how to spray the paint with a proper fan and distance from product. This will be controlled through air regulation.

Paint Quality.

Will be responsible for paint quality, with a focus on Paint thickness, adhesion and color matching.

No prior painting is necessary; however, A strong safety and quality ethic is required. Attention to detail and consistency is essential for a good painter.


  • A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.



  • Able to compute basic math problems.
  • Problem solving ability and ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Good hand eye coordination and the ability to discern colors.
  • Ability to work in, and promote a team environment.


  • 80% of the time will be performed in a spray booth and 20% in a mixing booth
