Job Description:

The peer review coordinator reports to the Chief Quality Officer/Director, Medical Staff Services. The Coordinator is responsible for collaborating with the department Chief Quality Officer/director and, the VPMA, the Chief of Staff and the chair of the Professional Review Committee to establish and maintain all processes related to peer review, including identifying trends and facilitating improvement opportunities of the medical staff. The Coordinator ensures the program and its activities comply with regulatory and accreditation standards including The Health Care Quality Improvement Act of 1986 (HCQIA), 42 USC §11101 et seq.

Experience

Minimum two to four years experience in hospital quality improvement or risk management experience. Experienced at reviewing medical records, hospital processes and peer review processes. Working knowledge of The Joint Commission, state and federal regulations or other compliance requirements as pertains to medical staff peer review. Experienced user of MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Excellent writing skills including business writing and authorship of policies or procedures. Clinical experience as well as experience in group facilitation preferred. 

Education

Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred or other relevant hospital experience in lieu of bachelor's degree in nursing.

$72.45

$96.90

The hours employees work determine when a shift differential is paid.

Hourly Evening Shift Differential: $5.50 Hourly Night Shift Differential: $8.00
