Morada Senior Living is hiring a Resident Care Specialist to help support our communities in Texas and Oklahoma.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General

  • Knowledge of clinical practice and operational procedures as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in assisted living and memory care setting.
  • Executes the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department and provides analytical data on key performance metrics.
  • Ability to perform proficiently in all nursing competency areas in assisted living and memory care setting, within scope of practice, including but not limited to direct resident care, family support, resident rights, and safety.
  • Ability to identify high-risk resident concerns and implement timely and appropriate response measures.
  • Ability to provide education and training to clinical department under the direction and collaboration with the Divisional Vice President of Resident Care and the National Director of Clinical Education.
  • Knowledge and support of policies and practices developed by the company.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of systems across the clinical department and make changes as appropriate.
  • May provide on-site and virtual support during company acquisitions.

 

Resident Care and Regulatory Compliance

  • Guides the practice of resident care policies and procedures in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational standards at the community level.
  • Knowledge of new or changing regulatory requirements and implements changes as needed at the community level.
  • Tracks regulatory outcomes, identifies trends, and provides guidance to the clinical department team members in the development and execution of corrective action or performance improvement plans.
  • Collaborates with the legal and compliance departments on regulatory requirements and plans of correction.

 

Clinical Risk Management, Safety, and Infection Control

  • Participates in review of incidents, accidents, and clinical risk scenarios at the community level to safeguard residents and mitigate liability and risk.
  • Guides timely entry of incidents and accidents in software programs and ensures a thorough investigation is completed at the community level.
  • Serves as a champion and key educator for our infection control and prevention program.
  • Guides clinical department team members with the management of infectious illnesses and communicable disease outbreaks.
  • Guides appropriate notification and involvement of the local and/or state public health departments as required.
  • Monitors and reviews key performance indicator data to identify quality trends. Develops and implements corrective action plans with the Executive Director.
  • Provides guidance and supervision of the overall operation of the resident care department of the community.
  • Adherence of the resident pre-admission assessment process and the clinical denial process.
  • Reviews of prospective and existing residents as needed.
  • Reviews of 8# potential move-outs as needed.
  • Monitor and evaluate level of care assessments for timely completion, accuracy, and compliance with applicable laws. regulations, and organizational
  • Reviews and investigates resident/family/responsible party complaints as needed.
  • Monitors compliance with resident rights policies and works to resolve grievances as needed.
  • Participates in an interdisciplinary team effort concerning the clinical needs of the community.
  • Participates in the interview and selection process for community clinical positions.
  • Assists with the onboarding, orientation, and ongoing development of these positions under the direction and collaboration with the National Director of Clinical Education.
  • Takes initiative in developing nursing leadership skills, clinical skills, and competencies through continuing education and participation in senior living organizations.
  • Completes company required training and education as assigned.
  • Monitors training compliance for the clinical department.
  • Collaborates with community operational leaders and other disciplines to develop and monitor staffing and labor budgets, nursing supply budgets, and community occupancy targets.
  • Participates in the annual budget process as assigned.
  • Serves as a champion of company culture.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

•       Conducts routine and episodic quality rounds and compliance audits at the community. Creates and executes action to minimize liability and risks as a result of the compliance review findings.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 Provides guidance and supervision to the community clinical team members. Supports other team members to assure delivery of consistently high-quality person-centered care to residents. Fulfills supervisory responsibilities with consistent. safe. and effective nursing practice in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations. and organizational standards.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Requirements and Experience:

  • Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in good standing, licensed by the states in which you are assigned; Registered Nurse preferred
  • (3 or more) years senior living experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience in multi-state support
  • Language Ability:
    • Ability to communicate effectively speaking the primary language of the residents.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

•         Experience as a Director of Health and Wellness in Assisted Senior Living

•         BLS Certification

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to conduct instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office. and ability to learn new applications.
  • Must demonstrate an interest in working with an ageing adult population.
  • Interacts with guests. residents, and staff in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Responds promptly to resident needs.
  • Supports organization's goals and values.
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to delegate assignments.

  • Ability to work flexible schedule.
  • Frequent travel is required
  • Works primarily indoors in a climate controlled setting
  • Team Members may be exposed to blood and/or body fluids with potential exposure to hazardous materials and infectious diseases
  • Possible exposure to unpleasant odors
  • Possible exposure to chemicals as identified in the SDS Manual
