Sr. Compensation & Benefits Specialist
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, remote opportunity.

We are looking for a Sr. Compensation & Benefits Specialist who will be responsible for the company's Total Rewards programs and work closely with the HR team to support company objectives. WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON
Compensation Analysis and Budgeting
- Manage MLI's compensation programs and policies including regular review of employee compensation with company management and analysis of compensation plans for internal and external equity.
- Conduct market research and analyze compensation trends to determine competitive salary ranges for various positions within the organization.
- Work closely with the HR team to integrate compensation practices including linking pay to performance through the design and implementation of merit increase programs, incentive plans, and bonus structures.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop compensation strategies and budget plans aligned with our organizational goals and financial resources.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports for management.
Benefits Administration
- Oversee the administration of employee benefit programs, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits.
- Manage annual renewals and employee open enrollment process.
- Review and route confidential benefit invoices to Accounting department for payment.
- Investigate new benefit programs, improve existing programs and monitor benefit administration while coordinating with MLI's third party administrators.
- Develop and maintain applicable payroll/benefits procedures by recommending improvements or changes.
Job Evaluation and Grading
- Evaluate job roles and responsibilities to determine appropriate job grades and salary levels.
- Conduct job evaluations to ensure internal equity, establish clear pay structures, benchmark compensation practices, support talent management initiatives, and mitigate legal risks related to compensation discrimination and pay equity.
- Support job architecture design and develop job descriptions.
HRIS Administration
- Administer and manage Compensation planning modules.
- Manage and oversee accurate multi-state payroll processes using HRIS system (Paycom).
- Management of Benefits /open enrollment modules.
- Job structure and Position Seat management administration.
Other
- Uphold all MLI policies and “MLI Code of Conduct.”
- Regular review and monitoring for regulatory and company policy compliance of compensation and benefits processes and appropriate escalation to HR management.
- Maintain confidential payroll and employee benefit documents and files per federal and state requirements and per company policy.
- Travel domestically and internationally ~5%
- Perform other duties as assigned to support and sustain a high performing team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Human Resources, or other related field or equivalent experience combined with compensation/payroll certification will be considered.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of direct benefits and compensation program administration experience.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy and a positive attitude.
- High analytical proficiency with numbers and data comparison and critical thinker and problem-solver, with a passion for finding solutions for both employees and the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize multiple activities, being a self- starter, with the initiative and perseverance to deliver results.
- Effective organizational skills and ability to work independently while seeking support and guidance as needed.
- Advanced administrative skills and working knowledge of computer systems across multiple software platforms (SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite, Teams).
- Commitment to working flexible hours (40+/week) and be available after business hours as necessary to support a high functioning team and accomplish varying priorities and workload.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally – 5%
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional certification in payroll and or compensation.
SALARY & BENEFITS
Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $78K-$108K.
