Overview

NJM Insurance Group is looking for a dynamic, energetic intern who is eager to learn about our company by supporting our Accounting area. This role will assist with monthly close responsibilities and the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules.

To be successful as an Intern, you should be willing to help with any tasks assigned by a supervisor. You will assist with the monthly & quarterly closes and be involved in upcoming and current projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules.

  • Record journal entries and perform analysis of financial statements.

  • Assist internal, external, and regulatory auditors in retrieving requested documentation.

  • Perform special projects as required or requested.

  • Review and analyze tasks to identify potential operational efficiencies and automated solutions for manual processes.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Interest in the Property and Casualty Insurance industry

  • Students currently in their Sophomore or Junior year pursuing a bachelors degree in accounting

  • Currently have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • High level of intellectual curiosity

  • Effective communicator (verbal and written)

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Desire to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Commutable to our West Trenton, New Jersey office

Starting Rate: $21
