Description
At NorthBay Health, the Pharmacy Technician Support Specialist, under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager or Supervisor, performs pharmacy technician functions and assists with medication dispensing as outlined in the Pharmacy Technician job description. Primary responsibilities include supporting daily pharmacy operations, maintaining efficient workflow, providing exceptional customer service, guiding staff in standardized work practices, overseeing pharmacy quality control activities, ensuring compliance with best-practice standards, and serving as a resource for Pharmacy Information Technology systems and related technology functions. The position also coordinates data collection and reporting for regulatory compliance, process improvement initiatives, controlled substance (CII) record management, and inventory control.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
Registration as Pharmacy technician (license) with the California State Board of Pharmacy is required.
Current national Pharmacy Technician Certification or national certification complete within 6 months from the hire date.
Three years of institutional years of institutional Pharmacy Technician experience in all key areas. Knowledge of the laws involved in hospital pharmacy practice. One year ADM or equivalent administration required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must demonstrate competency in basic pharmaceutical calculations. Ability to type 25 wpm and have previous computer experience including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
PREFERRED:
Two years Pyxis or equivalent administration desired.
