Description
At NorthBay Health, the Patient Financial Services Supervisor, is responsible for supervision the timely and accurate billing, follow-up and collection of ambulatory patient accounts. The supervisor is responsible to monitor and process accounts for all services and specialties offered within the NorthBay Ambulatory practices using standard billing practices along with NorthBay prescribed billing practices and regulatory requirements. Under the direction of the Manager, acts as liaison to the hospital specialty departments. Responsible for evaluation, suggestion and recommendation of policies and procedures. Supervisory responsibilities include training, business office operations, fiscal accountability, staffing, personnel management, and staff development. Assures compliance of regulatory requirements, facilitates communications, and provides effective leadership within department. Coordinates and assists the management team for Patient Financial Services.
Qualifications
Education: Associate's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or 5 years of relevant experience.
Licensure / Certification: All new hires will be required to complete the HFMA Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) training course within the first nine (9) months of employment. Membership, training, and certification costs will be sponsored by the employer.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
- 5 years of experience in professional and/or hospital billing, including in-depth knowledge of CPT, ICD, and HCPCS coding.
- Strong understanding of payer contracts, payment structures, and federal/state regulations.
- Proficiency with compliance laws and collection laws.
- Proven proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) management.

- Proficient in PC applications and Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Skilled in training and providing education to staff.

Compensation: $36.00 to $43.76 per hour based on years of experience doing the duties of the role. Max rate listed is commensurate of 20+ years of experience
