Summary
We are seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk who will be responsible for assisting with the coordination and delivery of all finished goods, plant receivables, working directly with the freight vendors and truck drivers at our Cross City distribution warehouse. Additional duties include tracking shipments to our Florida customers and maintaining inventory accuracy with the distribution of receivables and finished goods. Provides inventory reports to Plant Manager and safety information to truck drivers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work directly with Freight Vendor Drivers and understand who they are and how they work
Keep track of all inbound and outbound material on daily shipping documents
Distribute all required records to appropriate office personnel
Utilize M3 for receiving and shipping finished good loads
Perform cycle counts and quarterly inventory
Utilize forklift with loading and unloading of products/pallets
Verify and check all deliveries of supplies and materials for accuracy against the purchase orders
Preperation of load paperwork, scheduling for loading and unloading of trucks
Stay in communication with the vendors for accuracy of delivery of delivery date and time
Maintain an accuracy level to be determined by Plant Manager
Load outbound customer orders in 1 hour
Work with Plant Manager on loading and unloading guidelines
Understanding of basic safety regulations
Responsible for initial safety briefing and safety updates on periodic basis for all truck drivers
Report on all accidents and near misses to Plant Manager
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Work in warehouse year-round with minimal cooling/heating; subject to fluctuating hot and cold temperatures (summer months cooled by swamp coolers; no heating in winter months)
Standing for long periods of time
Physical ability sufficient to lift and maneuver heavy objects and equipment up to 65 lbs
Overhead reaching, bending, stooping
Eye-hand coordination
Must be able to differentiate colors
Job Requirements
Minimum 1 year shipping/receiving experience
Experience operating a forklift
Able to read, speak and write English
Able to understand and take direction
Reliable and dependable; good attendance record
Attention to detail
Safe and proper use of tools and equipment
Operate effectively at a high pace within active environment
Work both independently and amongst team members
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel
Experience using M3 ERP system is a plus
Strong Customer Service skills
