What you'll do:

This small but ruthlessly effective Engineering team is focused on customized automation solutions – everything from custom single-axis actuators to turnkey integrated systems. The Mechanical Engineer I role is that of supporting contributor to the Engineering team's success.  Specifically, you will – under the direction of the Design Engineering Manager – design, develop and test mechanical automation solutions, create detailed mechanical drawings and documentation, help maintain Bills of Materials, and work with vendors within the supply chain.

This position calls for a well-organized, self-motivated person, who enjoys a variety of concurrent assignments while working with technology and people.  It requires enthusiasm, grit, creativity, flexibility, resiliency, organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and professional and courteous personality. Additional details about what you will be doing includes:

  • Designing detailed 3D models of parts and assemblies
  • Creation of detailed 2D drawings of parts and assemblies
  • Creation and maintenance of Bills of Materials
  • Assigning part numbers to parts and drawings
  • Checking drawings created by engineers
  • Processing drawing changes (red lines)
  • Data migration from previous ERP system to new ERP system
  • Designing and executing Proof of Concepts to determine feasibility and performance

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering
  • SAP experience is a plus
  • Computer literacy and Microsoft Office experience is a must 
  • Experience in PDM (i.e. SWPDM), EPR (i.e. Syspro/SAP), CAD (i.e. SolidWorks) software systems is a plus
  • Experience reading mechanical and electrical drawings is a plus
  • 1+ years of engineering experience is a plus
