The Children's Aid Society (CAS) is an organization in Ontario that provides child protection services. Its primary purpose is to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and proper care of children and youth. CAS agencies operate under the Child, Youth and Family Services Act (CYFSA) and are responsible for investigating concerns about child safety.
Position: | Full-Time Security Guard
Site: | Children Aid Society - 1602 Telesat Court, Gloucester ON K1B 1B1
Hours: | 1100-1900 (Monday-Friday)
Overtime Method: | Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours
Pay rate: | $19.38

Job Responsibilities
- Security is to respond to any situation in family access at location.
- Security provides access before 0830 and after 1630
- Hourly call ins to main site
- Complete daily reports and incident reports.
- Respond and Assist to fire and non-fire emergencies
- Conduct exterior patrols
- Enforce parking regulations
- Monitor site with CCTV
- Customer Service
- Provide access badges for contractors
- Enforce policy and procedures for staff, visitors, contractors and clients
Job Requirements:
- Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
- Valid (WSIB Approved) First Aid Certificate Level C
- Authorized to legally work in Canada
Site Requirements:
- Remain calm and effectively perform in emergency situations
- Able to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel
- Basic knowledge of security procedures, alarm systems, handling possible violent behaviors, and non-defensive communication
- Able to follow, and enforce safety codes, CAS regulations, and procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and customer service orientation
- Able to handle private and confidential information with a high amount of discretion
- Present a professional image to the public
- Adhere to our Code of Ethics in performing job requirements
- Able to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
- Once hired, the individual must complete and sign the Record Check and Release form with the client and successfully clear the background check.
