Security staff are responsible for patrolling, responding to emergencies, completing incident reports, enforcing mall rules, and ensuring the safety of guests and tenants..
Duties & Responsibilities: Job specific skill requirements:
• The person assigned to this position shall supervise the activities of all Employees in relation to security;
• The Supervisor / Team Leader shall be capable of developing work methods, assigning tasks and directing activities in accordance with the competency of the Employees;
• The Supervisor / Team Leader shall be accessible at all times;
• All security guards' tasks defined under Exhibit A.1 Section “Technical Specifications” could be applicable to the Supervisor/Team Leader,
• All training defined for security guards under Exhibit E Section “Training” is applicable to the Supervisor / Team Leader,
• Security Supervisor must possess a minimum of 2 years experience (unless otherwise exempted by agreement with a designated representative of the Contracting Party and be duly licensed under the applicable provincial legislation.
Qualifications:
• Train and supervise the activities of the Employees;
• To ensure that all Employees wear approved uniforms, which are clean and presentable, and the necessary identification;
• Be aware of the physical layout of the Property, including the location of the main water supply valve, electrical service room, sprinkler rooms, service corridors, network room and HVAC rooms, and all sensitive areas on the property. The Supervisor / Team Leader shall ensure that the Employees are also familiar with the location of these facilities;
• Communicate effectively with the public and with tenants;
• The Supervisor / Team Leader shall ensure that all activities and events are recorded in the register or Log Book. This Log Book shall be a bound, with pages that cannot be removed, and will be kept in the workspace assigned to the Service Provider. The Log Book shall remain the property of the Contracting Party and will be accessible to the Contracting Party at all times.
Prerequisites:
• Valid Security Officer License;
• Standard First Aid Training with CPR with AED Lvl C, administering Naloxone and Epipen;
• Supervisor or delegate to be trained and certified to use handcuffs in accordance with the Laws;
• Training on verbal de-escalation techniques (e.g. Non-violent Critical Intervention (NVCI), Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB), etc.); Mental Health First-Aid (MHFA) or comparable;
• Training in retail crime awareness, prevention and response in alignment with JLL Arrest, Use of Force, and Detention Guidelines; • During special events, peak seasons, and emergencies traffic control / flagging;
Certification Requirements (All) Valid Ontario Security License
Valid G Licence
Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
Minimum 1 year of Security Supervisory Experience
Use of Force
2 years of security supervisor experience
A Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence
Use of Force in Class Training
Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
Authorized to legally work in Canada
