Site Description:  

Reporting to the Security Front Line Supervisor serving St Clair Energy. This temporary position has the primary responsibility to perform all duties related to the Site Access Control System to control access to the St. Clair Energy site for the purpose of security.  

The Security guard is expected to represent Paladin Security Group as well as the facility they are assigned to. 

 

Position Details: 

Position: Temporary Full-Time Security Guard  

Site: St. Clair Energy 

Address: 790 Petrolia Line, Corunna, ON  N0N 1G0 

Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement – overtime calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly 

Hours: Rotating Shifts  

            Day – 06:00 – 18:00hrs Rotation 

            Night – 18:00 – 06:00hrs Rotation               

Payrate: |$18.00  

Posting Date:  August 18 2025 

Internal Closing Date: August 25, 2025 

External Closing Date:  September 15, 2025 

 

 

Key responsibilities:  

  • Monitor and patrol the premises to ensure safety and security. 
  • Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access or unlawful activities. 
  • Control access at entry points and ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises. 
  • Respond to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies and take appropriate actions as needed. 
  • Assist in the enforcement of company policies and procedures, including monitoring and reporting any suspicious activities. 
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or security breaches promptly to the management team. 
  • Complete daily logs and security reports, documenting any unusual occurrences. 
  • Provide assistance to employees, visitors, and vendors as needed. 
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and security equipment, ensuring they are functioning properly. 
  • Cooperate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and other authorities when necessary. 
  • Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and ready for use. 
  • Security personnel at this location are primary for emergency duties  
  • Security personnel are to be conversant with emergency duties and procedures  
  • Liaise with other security staff on site  
  • Offer support to any person in need such as providing good customer service when providing a security presence, such as providing direction, responding to emergency situation involving violent individuals and injuries  
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned 

 

Prerequisites:   

  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario   
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)  
  • Valid G class Driver Licence  
  • Clear Driver's Record 
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must   
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred. 
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)   
  • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position   
  • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability  
  • Authorized to legally work in Canada 

 

Certification Requirements (All)

Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
Valid Ontario Security License
