Job Summary and Qualifications

The Medical Assistant II is responsible for direct patient care under the direction of the physicians for patients in Surgical Oncology. The Medical Assistant II will work closely with Providers, Nurse Navigators and the Operations Coordinator to schedule screenings and/or diagnostic tests, surgeries, and gather results for provider review. The MA II will perform a variety of non-clinical services to include data entry, scanning, obtaining records, chart preparation, answering phones and scheduling. The Medical Assistant II will provider assessment and care of Surgical Oncology patients (e.g. obtaining vital signs, height and weight, blood pressure, temperature and family/personal medical histories). The Medical Assistant II will maintain and orderly, efficient and timely flow of patients.

  • Medical Assistant certification is required 
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • High School Graduate / GED
  • Certified Medical Assistant, or NHA Cert Clinical Medical Assistant, or NAHP Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant, or AMT Registered Medical Assistant, or ABR-OE Assess Based Rec in Order Entry
