Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: This is a dual-role position with a somewhat greater emphasis on the Payroll side. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Assists and supports the Director of Human Resources, Payroll Manager, and HR Generalist in their duties. Substitutes for the Payroll Manager and/or HR Generalist as needed.

 

Assists the Payroll Manager as needed with the following duties:

 

  • Assists in processing bi-weekly payroll for employees, including data entry, timekeeping and calculation of wages and deductions.
  • Maintains accurate employee records, including changes in salary benefits, tax withholding and personal information.
  • Verifies timekeeping records and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to hours worked.
  • Generates payroll reports as needed.
  • Addresses employee inquiries related to payroll, taxes, and deductions.
  • Maintains organized and secure payroll records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Stays current with federal and state payroll laws and regulations to ensure accurate payroll processing and compliance.

 

Assists the HR Generalist as needed with the following duties:

 

  • Composes, complies, and types up routine correspondence and statistical reports.
  • Helps organizes and maintains the Policy and Procedure and Job Description Systems.
  • Coordinates and schedules appointments, meetings, reserves, and prepares facilities.
  • Greets visitors/candidates and takes to appropriate area or person.
  • Makes copies of correspondence or other printed materials.
  • Read, write, and prepares short correspondence, including e-mail, memos, and faxes.
  • Able to present information 1-on-1 and in small groups to current employees, new hires, and community members that come in to speak to HR about open positions.

Education/Experience: Associate's degree (or equivalent two-year college/technical school) required; or one (1) to three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with Time Trex (3R), CPSI, Symplr, Word, Excel, and/or On-Base software a plus. Previous Payroll/HR experience preferred but not required.
