Description

The Director of Finance and Risk Management is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the organization's financial health, risk management, and technology systems. This position plays a critical role in supporting a portfolio of North American subsidiaries comprising 900+ retail stores while safeguarding the company's interests and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The position will be based in our corporate office in Sugar Land, Texas, and report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.  

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support Portfolio of North American Subsidiaries
    • Provide financial and management support to a diverse portfolio of North American subsidiaries, totaling 900+ retail stores.
  • Risk & Benefits:
    • Identify and assess potential risks to the organization, including operational, financial, legal, and reputational risks.
    • Develop and implement risk management strategies and policies to mitigate identified risks and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
    • Oversee the organization's insurance programs, ensuring adequate coverage and cost-effectiveness.
    • Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
    • Ensure compliance with legal requirements related to employee benefits and communicate changes to staff.
  • Technology and Information Management Systems:
    • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of technology systems to meet organizational needs.
    • Ensure the security and integrity of organizational data.
    • Provide leadership in cybersecurity efforts to protect the organization from potential threats.


Qualifications

   Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field.
  • Familiarity with retail operations, particularly in a multi-location setting, would be advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance management, employee benefits administration, and regulatory compliance.
  • Expert written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to organizational changes and effectively lead during times of transition.
  • High ethical standards and integrity in dealing with finance and risk management matters.
  • Proficient knowledge of Windows-based business computers and Microsoft Office programs; specifically, Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the company.
