Office hours: Monday-Thursday 8a-4:30p, Friday 8a-4p
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Physician Assistant will be working with a high-volume, board-certified physician in Interventional Pain Management and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, with a focus on Spine (neck and back disorders). Working with other support staff, patients will be seen in an office-based setting 5 days/week. No long term opioid management, no in-hospital call, and no weekends/holidays will be required. The position requires a highly motivated, efficient, and detail-oriented individual.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Greets and assists patients, visitors, physicians and other staff members in a polite, prompt, helpful manner.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all HIPAA and departmental guidelines.
- No call required but ability to take call for additional income per a stipend arrangement.
- Must remain flexible in work schedule
- Assess patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examination, obtaining, updating and studying medical histories.
- Orders diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, MRI, CT scans, laboratory studies, any other pertinent testing and interpreting results.
- Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
- Complies with federal, state and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Assist physician seeing patients in office setting.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A. JOB KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Check and respond promptly to e-mails, voice mails and text messages.
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite products such as Word, Outlook and Excel.
- General knowledge and experience with office equipment such as copiers, multi-line phone systems, and fax machines.
- Typing skills and working knowledge of word processing, electronic mail/calendar
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Detail-oriented and able to work independently or as a team.
B. EDUCATION:
- Current DE state Physician Assistant Licenses (or eligible)
- Current CPR certification
C. EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in a Medical Office setting as a PA is a plus, but not required.
Compensation Information:
Starting At $95000.0 / Annually
