Description
U.S. Durum Milling (Richardson USA) is currently searching for a by-products merchant to join our team in St. Louis, Missouri.
This position is a key role to the success of the flour mill by sourcing destinations for all the by-products and maximizing revenue with diverse trading positions. Candidates must have commodities trading knowledge, excellent communication skills, and have a creative mindset to solve unique issues.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Sell the wheat middlings and second clear flour.
- Manage a specific long/short trading position using outside markets as well as futures contracts.
- Work closely with the flour sales team to obtain price objectives.
- Maintain and grow the customer base.
- Work with the operations and transportation teams to ensure overall company objectives.
- Negotiate and manage sales and purchase contracts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in an agriculture field, or other business degree
- 2+ years experience in commodities merchandising, grain trading, agricultural sales, procurement, or a related commercial role
- Strong understanding of commodity markets, pricing strategies, and risk management principles
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound business decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Operations, and Transportation
