Summary

Republic National Distributing Company is seeking a highly analytical and strategic-minded individual to join our team as a Transportation Strategic Analyst. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth analysis of transportation systems, trends, and data to drive informed decision-making and strategic planning within our organization. As a Transportation Strategic Analyst, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our transportation operations, enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and supporting long-term growth.

In this role, you will

Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret transportation-related data from various sources to identify insights and trends that can inform strategic decisions.

Strategic Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine transportation strategies that align with overall business objectives. Translate data-driven insights into actionable recommendations for improving transportation efficiency and effectiveness.

Performance Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate transportation performance metrics, including on-time delivery rates, transportation costs, utilization rates, and customer satisfaction. Identify areas of improvement and provide recommendations to optimize performance.

Market Research: Stay updated on industry developments, technological advancements, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape related to transportation. Use this information to anticipate potential impacts on the organization's transportation strategy.

Scenario Modeling: Develop and maintain models for various transportation scenarios, considering factors such as demand fluctuations, capacity constraints, fuel costs, and market dynamics. Conduct sensitivity analyses to assess potential outcomes under different scenarios.

Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as operations, supply chain, and IT to gather data and insights, and to ensure the successful implementation of transportation strategies.

· Continuous Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement within transportation operations and recommend innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and service quality.

Cost Analysis: Analyze transportation costs, including fuel expenses, maintenance costs, labor expenses, and capital investments. Identify cost-saving opportunities and work with relevant teams to implement cost reduction strategies.

Risk Management: Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within transportation operations and supply chains. Develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.

Communication and Reporting: Prepare and present clear, concise reports and presentations that convey complex analytical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Communicate effectively with team members and leadership to ensure alignment on strategic initiatives.

What you bring to RNDC

Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Engineering, or a related field;

Master's degree is a plus.

5 years proven experience in Direct Store Delivery transportation analysis, strategic planning, or a related analytical role.

Understanding of transportation dispatching systems, transportation optimization software, and data visualization tools is advantageous.

Knowledge of the transportation industry, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks such as Department of Transportation (DOT).

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets to derive actionable insights.
