Title: Assistant Coalition Coordinator (Community Outreach Specialist)

Regular Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Health Behavior Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 FTE: 1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Promotes and protects the health of residents by increasing the availability of smoke-free multi-unit housing in their designated multi-county catchment area in New York State; enacts smoke-free housing policies by assisting public housing authorities, non-profit community development corporations and market rate apartment management companies in adopting no smoking policies in their communities; assists the Coalition Director and participates on an equal basis with the Youth Outreach Specialist on the day-to-day operations in the designated multi-county catchment area; creates and follows defined action plans to achieve the assigned objectives from the Coalition's annual work plan; takes a leadership role on designated projects and committees; assists the Coalition Director in preparing mandated annual reports, reporting monthly to the State via the Community Activity Tracking (CAT) system, drafting the Coalition's annual action plan and maintaining the Coalition budget; represents the Coalition at all area, regional, state and/or national meetings as required by the NYS Bureau of Tobacco Control Program; participates in local, Buffalo, and Albany sustainability activity. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Health or Life Sciences, Social Work, Psychology, Business, Marketing or a related field and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in marketing, public/media relations, health care, human services, working with community groups or a related field.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will have the following:

Experience working with providers or community groups focused on health care, human services, or a related field.

Equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in addictions, tobacco and vape education or use prevention, or a related field.

Ability to travel freely and regularly to all parts of Chemung, Schuyler, and Steuben counties (on a weekly basis) as well as to Albany and Buffalo, NY (on a quarterly basis). 

Preferred candidate will live within the three-county catchment area or within 30 miles of catchment area.
