Title: Faculty Position in Veterinary Pathology

1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a full-time faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level in the Department of Pathology to support research in comparative oncology. The goal is to advance basic and translational programs including drug development, toxicology, immunotherapies including CAR-T and comparative oncology efforts. In this role, the incumbent will have numerous opportunities to collaborate with faculty at the cancer center including physicians (MD), physician-scientists (MD-PhDs) and researchers (PhD) to advance core capabilities, comparative studies, and technology platforms, fostering integrated research spanning basic sciences and clinical care at Roswell Park.

Moreover, the selected candidate will engage with two DACLAM veterinarians within the AAALAC International accredited facilities of the Comparative Oncology Shared Resource (COSR) to enhance veterinary services. This includes offering expertise in comparative pathology, diagnostic pathology support, and pathologic assessments aligned with experimental protocols for Roswell Park's scientists. Responsibilities encompass active involvement in diagnostic services, providing diagnostic reports for research studies, conducting post-mortem examinations (both gross and microscopic), interpreting clinical pathology and microbiology findings, delivering histopathology services, and offering routine diagnostic assessments and pathologic support for in-house research endeavors.

The academic rank will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.

Salary range is $295,000-$520,000 which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

License Requirement
Current license to practice as a Veterinarian in the State of New York.

Certification Requirement
Certification or eligibility for board certification from the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP).

Education and Experience
Doctorate degree in veterinary medicine or equivalent degree from an American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)-accredited institution and five (5) years* of full-time experience as a comparative/veterinary pathologist or equivalent title.

NOTE:
1. Possession of board certification from the American College of Veterinary Pathologists at time of appointment may be used to substitute for two (2) years of the required qualifying experience.
2. As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain board certification from the American College of Veterinary Pathologists within twenty-four (24) months of their appointment to this title.
3. Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Experience with translational and collaborative research projects that address clinical, infectious, and oncology studies related to the use of animals in research are highly desirable.
