Title: Programmer Analyst II

Regular Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Information Technology Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 FTE: 1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Leads the design and implementation of software development, including but not limited to, web based applications, interactive dashboards, operational tools, integrations with third part applications and data sources. Performs intermediate to complex computer program analysis and design; researches supportive data and writes, codes, tests, and debugs computer programs; monitors program implementation and designs programs accordingly. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience1. Master's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field; or
2. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time software development experience; or
3. Associates degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time software development experience; or
4. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma with a diploma or certificate in a computer science, or related field and the equivalent of six (6) years of full-time software development experience.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates must have experience with data extraction, manipulation, and analysis using SQL and relational databases. They must be able to query, manipulate, and cross-reference data from multiple systems to provide cross-functional metrics and develop custom interactive dashboards in business intelligence tools such as Power BI. Additional experience developing extract-transform-load (ETL) processes, consuming data from REST APIs, and data warehousing is preferred as are skills in programming languages including PHP and Python. Preference will be given to candidates with advanced skills in both Power BI desktop, Power BI Report Builder, and the use of git for version control (e.g., GitHub/GitLab). Previous experience working in a healthcare setting analyzing quality and patient safety data is ideal.
