Title: Senior Clinical Laboratory Technologist- Point of Care/Quality Assurance

Job Type:

Regular Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Laboratory Medicine Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 FTE: 1 Shift: Variable (United States of America) Summary: Assists in the coordination and oversight of Point of Care Laboratory testing activities across hospital locations. Works with nursing, physicians, employees and management as needed to ensure Point of Care testing is running efficiently and effectively. Assists in the coordination of regulatory and quality assurance activities across Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Assists the supervisor with the direction and coordination of the activities of workers engaged in a specific discipline of laboratory tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis, treatment and research; provides technical supervision and training to subordinate-level staff members; performs simple and complex laboratory test procedures in a timely manner as assigned; obtains and interprets data for diagnosis and treatment of disease; performs related laboratory technology duties.

Salary range for this position is $68,523 - $87,032 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package. This position also includes an assignment differential of $4.00 hourly and a geographic differential of $4.60 hourly for a combined salary range of $86,460 - $104,969 annually. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience
 
License Requirement:

1. Possession of a full license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York; or
2. Eligibility for full licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York; or
3. Physician licensed to practice medicine or osteopathy in the State of New York.

Education and Experience:

1. Doctorate degree in one of the chemical, physical or biological sciences and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in the specific laboratory discipline; or
2. Master's degree in one of the chemical, physical or biological sciences and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time clinical laboratory experience including one (1) year of experience in the specific laboratory discipline; or
3. Bachelor's degree in one of the chemical, physical or biological sciences and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the specific laboratory discipline; or
4. Bachelor's degree in medical technology or laboratory science and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the specific laboratory discipline.
NOTES:
1. As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain and maintain the appropriate certification within six (6) months of their appointment to this title.

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will have experience with equipment monitoring, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, quality control review, proficiency testing, and equipment and method validation including standard operating procedure development. The preferred candidate will have experience with inventory management. The preferred candidate will have experience with lab accreditation surveys and auditing, possess leadership/team building skills, possess excellent communication skills and attention to detail. The preferred candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Laboratory Information Systems.
