Job Description :

Summary

The Senior Manager, Digital Experience & UX Research will shape the strategy for Ryder's portfolio of multi-channel digital products, including websites, mobile apps and IoT experiences. This role will help establish a design language system that different product stakeholders can utilize, as well as set up best practices to engage the different product teams bringing clarity to prioritization. Directly support the individual product stakeholders that will be responsible for the execution and support of initiatives, standards and solutions based on the deep product knowledge they hold. Work hand-in-hand with the product teams to provide unified governance over a design language system as well as evangelize design thinking, establishing long-term success.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure a consistent, unified user experience across all platforms, basing decisions on industry-standard methodologies, user research, visual patterns and style guides.
  • Perform competitive analysis, user research, behavioral specifications and personas creation for new and existing products and services.
  • Empathize and advocate for the user throughout every step of the way, developing user journeys, test plans, information architecture, page flows, product roadmaps, wireframes, and designing and facilitating workshops.
  • Identify ways to optimize customers' end-to-end experiences with our products, leveraging data, insights, and research to understand the best ways to communicate with them
  • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions utilizing a user-centered approach by rapidly testing and iterating designs
  • Define how Ryder performs qualitative and quantitative research and mentor others on building up our capabilities across a variety of methodologies
  • Develop and lead our internal user research and validation capability, including development of testing processes from the ground up, developing partnerships, and infusing a culture of testing and learning throughout the organization
  • Optimize the design team's framework and cross-functional workflows, so design teams can focus on solving UX problems effectively while supporting development teams
  • Promote and gain support for design thinking, product strategies and developments across the organization by presenting and articulating data driven design to stakeholder teams
  • Coach, manage, mentor, and promote the work of multi-discipline User Experience members and advance the craft of the team

Skills and Abilities

  • Experience designing large scale, high profile customer experiences for a variety of personas
  • Experience building and maintaining a robust design system to support several product development teams
  • Experience with user research, quantitative and qualitative testing techniques and ability to translate findings into strategic business recommendations
  • Strong portfolio that showcases aesthetic design and includes a range of interactive samples on web and mobile
  • Proficiency in standard UX software such as Figma, Sketch, InVision, XD, or other design, wire-framing and prototyping tools advanced required
  • Understanding of basic front-end languages and frameworks including web component libraries, JavaScript, PWA's and other modern development frameworks advanced required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required Advanced education in Interaction/UX Design or HCI.
  • Eight (8) years or more 8+ years' experience in product research and user experience (UX) design required
  • Five (5) years or more 5+ years designing for web, mobile, and different types of applications required
  • Proficiency in standard UX software such as Figma, Sketch, InVision, XD, or other design, wire-framing and prototyping tools advanced required
  • Understanding of basic front-end languages and frameworks including web component libraries, JavaScript, PWA's and other modern development frameworks advanced required

Compensation Information :

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below:

Pay Type :

Salaried

Minimum Pay Range:

$100,000.00

Maximum Pay Range:

$130,000.00
