JOB DESCRIPTION:  

The Army Navy Business Group currently has a career opportunity for a Joint/Partner Nation Training Team Training Analyst to provide training program analysis and action officer support to Tactical Training Group Atlantic (TTGL) in Virginia Beach, VA as a fleet training subject matter expert (SME).

 

The ideal candidate will be a senior trainer/evaluator with five or more years of experience implementing academic training or instructing, including at least one tour at a Navy training command. He/she will have a broad understanding of expeditionary warfare principles, doctrine, and tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP) and experience in naval fleet synthetic training (FST) development, execution and evaluation, and simulation program operation. In addition, he/she will have excellent public speaking, presentation, and time management skills, as well as at least six years of applicable Training SME experience in:

  • Conducting fleet training analyses to identify gaps, training needs, and solutions

  • Developing and modifying training event/exercise scenarios and curricula

  • Delivering training in person and/or online

  • Developing training curricula

  • Managing training projects

  • Designing custom training to meet Fleet and Joint/Partner Nation training objectives

 

Specific Functional Area tasks include:

  • Provide academic training and education in person, via distant learning, or a blended approach

  • Develop, maintain and distribute instructional material supported by outlines, lesson plans, reference material, briefs, lectures, scenarios, animations, handouts, student and instructor workbooks and study guides, testing materials, critiques and feedback. 

  • Provide expertise in video software to assist in the production of videos, training aids, and multimedia products. 

  • Provide tailored teaching products and scenarios as approved by course instructors. 

  • Assist in maintaining, updating and standardizing the instructor certification program and ensure instructor knowledge and presentation skills maintain current credentials. 

  • Provide assistance to maintain reference library (virtual and hard copy) of unclassified manuals, documents and reference materials required to conduct training, development and maintenance of curriculum. 

  • Provide support for curriculum review, development and implementation for academics of warfare training requirements. 

  • Provide analysis and recommendations for preferred course/instruction delivery, face-to-face instruction, and synthetic training delivery.  Requires close coordination between course/program leads for proper identification of requirements. 

  • Assist with augmentation and back-up assistance with synthetic and war-game operations.

Qualifications

REQUIRED BACKGROUND / EDUCATION / SKILLS:

  • U.S. citizen with Secret clearance and Bachelor of Arts or Science degree.

  • Six (6) years of general technical and Functional Area experience (4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree will be considered); see detailed tasks above.

  • Five (5) years of senior trainer/evaluator experience.

  • Proven written and verbal communication skills at the junior management and senior executive level, and ability to act independently and effectively manage multiple priorities and interruptions with minimal impact on productivity and deliverables.

  • Experience in use of MS Office (e.g., PowerPoint) products.

 

DESIRED BACKGROUND / EDUCATION / SKILLS:

  • Recent tour in a military staff operations department billet. 

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Expeditionary operations.

  • Active military duty as a member of a Marine Air Combat Element (ACE), Tactical Air Control Squadron (TACRON) or Air Intercept Control (AIC) experience at the senior enlisted/mid-grade officer level or higher.

  • Experience as an Interface Control Officer (ICO) or Link-16 proficiency a plus.

  • Modeling and simulation experience as a MAGTF Tactical Warfare Simulator (MTWS) and/or Joint Semi-Automated Forces (JSAF) operator. 

  • Recent experience in joint and naval exercises, war gaming, and exercise/event planning.

  • Familiarity and solid understanding of the Navy Composite Warfare Commander (CWC) concept, Fleet training policy documents, including the Optimized Fleet Response Plan (OFRP), Fleet Response Training Plan (FRTP) and Fleet Training Continuum (FTC). 

  • Master Training Specialist (MTS) qualification.
