This role offers the flexibility to work remotely, with occasional classified work requiring onsite presence at SAIC's San Bernardino facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, verify, and test advanced hardware, algorithms, software, and simulation tools for GNC applications.
  • Perform statistical processing of measured data to support navigation functionality, ensuring precision in determining position, orientation, and rates of change.
  • Develop guidance algorithms to achieve desired positions, orientations, or orbits, and support control functions by formulating advanced analytical methods for system control algorithms.
  • Design and analyze requirements for hardware and software used in control processes, including integration with aerospace and missile systems.
  • Lead the development of high-fidelity 3DOF/6DOF simulations and other models to test and validate guidance systems.
  • Serve as a technical authority, providing consultation to top management and project leadership, and contributing to long-range planning, technological applications, and research strategy.
  • Identify and resolve complex technical issues autonomously, ensuring solutions align with program and mission objectives.
  • Act as SAIC's prime technical spokesperson in customer-facing engagements, fostering partnerships and aligning efforts with customer needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree equivalent experience in a relevant technical field, such as Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics.

  • 20+ years of progressively complex technical leadership experience within the aerospace or missile systems domain.
  • Expert in developing, analyzing, and maintaining advanced GNC simulations, systems, and architectures, including 3DOF and 6DOF applications.
  • Expertise in ICBM targeting, trajectory shaping, numerical methods, and missile dynamics.
  • Deep understanding of the full software lifecycle, from requirements analysis to system integration, testing, and sell-off.
  • Broad programming experience, including FORTRAN, MATLAB, and C/C++, with expertise in physics-based computational modeling.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ICBM-Specific Expertise: Hands-on experience supporting ICBM systems, particularly Minuteman, Peacekeeper, or similar missile systems.
  • Experience with control functions and hardware/software requirements for launch systems or missile platforms.

Target salary range: $200,001 - $240,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
