SAIC is seeking a Data Standards Engineer to fill a critical position on the LANDMARK AOS program in Chantilly, VA.  LANDMARK AOS is SAIC's Prime SETA program, supporting the customer's Ground Enterprise Directorate (GED), responsible for the acquisition of systems over the complete end-to-end life cycle.

As the Data Standards Engineer you will provide SETA support to assist in the technical and acquisition support delivering solutions to the organization.  You will focus on developing and deploying required hardware and software solutions to support data distribution in support of mission requirements. Also, as the Data Standards Engineer, you and advise Government managers responsible for the planning, engineering, and development of overarching data services and capabilities in support of a variety of customers. 

Responsibilities to Include:

  • Establish relationships with internal and external developers to better understand network issues and effectively describe detailed technical issues to an executive audience.
     
  • Evaluate ongoing maintenance and development to ensure it meets readiness requirements to support enterprise test activities.
     
  • Provide overall technical expertise by troubleshooting issues through constructive collaboration while ensuring solution meets Government and stakeholder requirements.
     
  • Support operational data distribution systems by working as a trusted liaison to proactively drive resolution of technical challenges between developers, stakeholders, and program leadership.
     
  • Advising senior and technical personnel to aid in the delivery of robust, scalable on-prem or cloud-based software architecture that meets or exceeds data distribution requirements.
     
  • Monitor Government sponsored development efforts by evaluating current and future architecture, supporting software integration, and providing ongoing assessment of products, service, and platform providers.
     
  • Design, plan, and integrate a data-intensive application framework using modern data-centric enabling technologies, cloud computing and virtualization architecture.
     
  • Optimize the management of data across nodes and the performance of distribution, search and retrieval.
     
  • Identify performance bottle-necks and evaluate scaling benchmarks.
     
  • Support systems engineering activities across the program life-cycle.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience. Relevant experience to be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
  • Experience directly supporting data architecture and solution efforts and a demonstrated understanding of Systems Engineering and Acquisition processes.
  • Familiarity with computing and operating systems (OS), on-premises hardware, and cloud computing platforms, such as Linux, Windows, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Project management skills to orchestrate cloud migrations and new system integrations seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of Agile Project Management methodologies.
  • Strong customer service skills, teaming skills, and the ability to collaborate within a cross-functional team.
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust to changing priorities.
