SAIC is recruiting a Database Administrator for one of our programs supporting the FDA. The candidate must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment. Your role with SAIC will keep you engaged in a diverse, fast-paced government environment while interacting with government stakeholders, team members and SAIC management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex database management systems workstations and servers on multiple operating systems
  • Produce various data artifacts to satisfy data requirements
  • Work on writing complex queries and tuning already existing queries for better performance
  • Clearly communicate highly technical details to customers who have little or no programming, database, or software development knowledge
  • Use AWS available tools to create, manage and maintain ETL Process
  • Identify necessary additional fields and review new metrics and presentations for accuracy and refinement
  • Assist in updating metadata for products
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Support in building data marts and data cubes to support user needs
  • Generate Ad hoc task descriptions and track to completion in project management tool
  • Collaborate with product team and customers
  • Develop and document functional requirements, working with customer, project, and technical team
  • Develop required documentation to support implementation such as data dictionary and data diagrams
  • Implement and maintain patches / upgrades to the required database engine software in both a VMware and AWS cloud environment
  • Maintain and validate database backup schemas and provide restores on demand
  • Follow agency change management process for database related changes using ServiceNow

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Self-motivated, professional, and excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficient with AWS services such as Redshift, RDS, Glue ETL, DMS, AWS Aurora, DynamoDB
  • Experience working with various DBMS such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server
  • Experience setting up DBs for BI and analytics tools such as Tableau, AWS QuickSight, PowerBI, SAS, etc.
  • Programming experience (python, bash, powershell, perl)
  • Microsoft SQL Server, PostGRES, Oracle, RedShift, Aurora, MySQL/Mariah
  • Erwin, SQL Workbench, Informatica
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) RDS, and AWS Database Migration Service

Education and Clearance:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or another related field
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
