SAIC is seeking a Material Coordinator for our Hanahan, SC location.
As a Material Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and efficient flow of materials, parts, and assemblies across multiple facilities to support production and project deadlines. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or across multiple buildings.
- Review production schedules and collaborate with team to determine material requirements to meet project demands and deadlines.
- Arrange and oversee the transfer of materials to satisfy production timelines, ensuring materials are properly verified for accuracy, type, and specifications for current and future projects.
- Compute and document material quantities needed for specific job orders and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Generate reports on material quantities, types, and locations to support project and operational planning.
- Collaborate with teams across multiple buildings and projects to manage competing priorities effectively and adapt to changing deadlines.
- Foster a high level of accountability for tasks, demonstrating a results-driven and productivity-focused work ethic.
- Assist in the repair, assembly, and installation of specialized facility materials by coordinating with Facility Staff.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Two (2) or more years of relevant work experience in:
- Coordinating and expediting the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies across facilities.
- Reviewing production schedules and working with teams to determine material requirements for various projects.
- Managing material transfers, verifying specifications, and calculating required quantities for job orders.
- Compiling reports on inventory status and coordinating with Facilities Staff to facilitate repairs, assembly, or installation tasks.
- Ability to safely lift and transport up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite tools, particularly Word and Excel (basic to intermediate skills, such as data entry, reporting, and calculations).
- Ability to obtain forklift certification for both sit-down and stand-up models. (Note: certification may be completed post-hire as part of training.)
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and communication skills to successfully manage tasks across multiple facilities and projects.
Required Security Clearance:
- Must be a U.S. citizen able to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications (Optional but Highly Desirable)
- Current forklift certification at the time of application.
- Experience working in government, defense, aerospace, or related industries.
- Familiarity with inventory management or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel tools, such as pivot tables, formulas, or advanced reporting capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
