SAIC is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to assist with Mechanical Engineering tasking related to the design, manufacture and sustainment of US Navy Aircraft Equipment and related systems in support of its Indianapolis facility. Tasking will include but will not be limited to creation and review of drawings and documentation, design of mechanical parts and assemblies, analysis of mechanical parts/assemblies, assisting Engineers in daily tasking. Candidate is expected to possess excellent communication skills to interface to multi-disciplinary project team. The candidate will work onsite in California, MD. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a college Engineering discipline
• Familiar with thermal and structural analysis concepts
• Knowledge of writing and interpreting technical reports
• Computer skills:
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Creo
  • Must be U.S. citizen

Desired Skills:

• Experience with or studied FEA
• Background in using Excel or similar tools for mathematical calculations
• Experience working or studying in a collaborative environment
• Worked with others to solve an engineering problem
• Experience using engineering knowledge to develop and refine a solution to a design problem

Target salary range: Up to $40,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
