SAIC is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2026 to support various torpedo test equipment modernization and development efforts. This internship provides an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and gain hands-on experience in the field. This position will be located on site at our Middletown, RI office.

Responsibilities:
- Contribute individually and/or as a team member to support our customer's unique mission needs
- Work with key stakeholders to accomplish goals and objectives to support SAIC's project/program portfolio

- Conduct data and process analysis to support development of key solutions

Technology Areas:
- Mechanical Engineering: Utilization of CAD software to develop 3D models and 2D drawings for complex electromechanical parts and assemblies. Perform different engineering analyses on the overall design which can include FEA, tolerance stack-up, reliability, design for manufacturing, and design for assembly.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering with one year or more of college coursework completed
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, which is reflective of all college coursework
- Experience using CAD software for the development of 3D models and 2D drawings
- SolidWorks is the in-house CAD platform used
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Have a passion for a career in technology
