Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Collaborate with software developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to determine middleware requirements and align on integration solutions. 

  • Evaluate new middleware technologies and provide recommendations to enhance system interoperability and organizational agility. 

  • Maintain middleware environments to meet high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) requirements. 

  • Ensure middleware integration points and messaging systems are redundant and recoverable in disaster scenarios. 

  • Oversee regular vulnerability assessments, patch management, and middleware system hardening. 

  • Conduct regular audits and optimization of middleware platforms to improve response times, user experiences, and overall system performance. 

  • Lead efforts to integrate enterprise applications using middleware technologies 

  • Serve as a key escalation point for complex middleware-related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve problems efficiently. 

  • Design, build, and maintain robust middleware solutions that facilitate seamless communication between applications, databases, and external systems. 

  • Implement best practices for middleware architecture, configurations, and tuning to ensure high performance, scalability, and fault tolerance. 

  • Oversee middleware deployment and capacity planning to meet current needs and future growth. 

Qualifications

Education and Experience: 

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience managing middleware technologies and enterprise integration frameworks. In this critical role, you will lead the management, design, implementation, and optimization of middleware platforms that enable application integration, scalability, and reliable communication across the enterprise. 

  • Experience with large-scale middleware environments (100+ integrations) in high-availability enterprise systems. 

  • Strong expertise in middleware platforms such as: WebLogic, JBoss EAP, Tomcat, Apache Kafka, IBM WebSphere 

 

Qualifications and Skills: 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 

  • Certifications in middleware platforms, such as: Oracle WebLogic, JBoss EAP Administration and WebSphere among others. 

  • Proficiency in middleware scripting and automation 

  • Solid understanding of APIs, REST, and SOAP web services and their middleware integrations. 

  • Extensive knowledge of distributed systems, load balancing, and performance tuning for middleware 

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an FDIC Public Trust  

  • Ability to successfully pass the SAIC Background investigation to establish a start date 

 

Desired: 

 

  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and middleware's role in supporting containerized environments such as Kubernetes and Docker. 

  • Knowledge of monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Dynatrace, ELK Stack, or Splunk for middleware analytics. 

  • Experience managing middleware in hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments. 

  • ITIL certification for IT service management frameworks.
