SAIC is seeking a Space Systems Security Analyst to support our NASA Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) customer in Fairmont, West Virginia. The candidate will support the Cross-Cutting Vulnerability Investigations (CCVI) project as part of the NASA IV&V Program's Mission Protection Services (MPS) Team. This role is full-time and is performed onsite at NASA's Katherine Johnson Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) Facility in Fairmont, WV.
Job Description:
- Working with System, Software, and Security/Cyber Engineers to perform Vulnerability Analysis of spacecraft components
- Developing analysis approaches and test cases to exercise suspected behaviors
- Developing Models and Simulations of spacecraft HW/SW/data interfaces using C/C++, Java, Python or similar object-oriented languages/scripts
- Developing unit and integration level tests for models and simulation environments
- Maintaining/Modifying models and simulations from other developers
- The candidate will work with more senior MPS team members and will perform a variety of individual contributor and team-based tasks
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelors and 0 years related experience
Desired Education:
- Bachelor of Science in engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, or other relevant field
Required Experience:
- Ability to develop analysis approaches and test cases to exercise suspected behaviors
- Ability to read and analyze C/C++, Java or similar object-oriented languages
- Experience using Python or similar object-oriented scripting languages
- Active TS/SCI or have ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
- Excellence in these general workplace skills:

- Experience in one or more of the following fields would be a plus:
- Experience developing models and simulations of spacecraft HW/SW/data interfaces
- Experience developing unit and integration level tests for models and simulation environments
- One or more of the following exercised skillsets: automation, test case generation, data processing, secure coding, modeling, abstraction, and ethical hacking
- Vulnerability Identification
- Threat and Risk Assessment - NIST CMF, NIST RMF
- Threat Modeling – STRIDE, DREAD
- Familiarity with common threat methods and TTPs - MITRE ATT&CK, SPARTA Frameworks
- Experience with Space Domain including:
- Spacecraft concept of operations
- Space Flight and Ground systems and software architectures
- Knowledge of Space systems avionics
- Space data standards knowledge (e.g. CCSDS, C2MS, XTCE)
Desired Experience:
- NASA experience is a plus
Clearance:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance
