SAIC is seeking an experienced Navy Air Defense Expert to provide Subject Matter Expertise in integrated air defense tactics, techniques and procedures to support basic phase training for the Forward Deployed Naval Forces in Japan (FDNF-J). Place of performance is ONSITE in Yokosuka, Japan, at Tactical Training Group Pacific Detachment Yokosuka (TTGPDY).
JOB DUTIES:
Develop advanced war game scenarios to support training of FDNF-J ships assigned to COMNAVSURFOR in support of Afloat Training Group Western Pacific.
Direct the conduct of FST-U air warfare training events at TTGPDY to include performing as simulated `BW' during training events.
Be thoroughly familiar with conduct of ship Air Watch officer duties.
Provide subject matter expertise in the latest Navy air defense tactics, techniques, procedures, and doctrine, to include C2 organization, unit employment, capabilities/limitations, integration, and threat capabilities.
Manage accomplishment of training objectives by adjusting war game scenario aspects, and role-playing air defense components as required.
Liaise with Navy and Joint centers of excellence and provide SME support to TTGPDY in latest USN doctrine, tactics, techniques and procedures for air defense.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:
Bachelors and ten (10) years demonstrated expertise in planning, implementation and execution of advanced, high-level Navy air defense tactics, direction and employment of units, and coordination requirements between air defense components, warfare commanders, subordinate units, and higher headquarters. Additional years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
Thorough knowledge of air defense unit capabilities and limitations, such as radar capabilities, missile capabilities, aircraft capabilities, etc.
Experience translating air defense training objectives into a comprehensive war game exercise.
Understanding of Cooperative Engagement Capability and integrated fire control concepts.
Prior experience as ships' company officer or senior enlisted or E-2 mission commander.
Prior experience as ship Air Defense Officer, Tactical Action Officer, or AIC supervisor.
Must be able to communicate succinctly and be proficient in the use of RT circuits.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must have an active Secret Clearance or be eligible for a Secret Clearance.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
Designation as SFTI/WTI.
Experience with Fleet Synthetic Training.
Experience with Live-Virtual-Constructive training initiatives.
