Description

Description

SAIC is a trusted leader in delivering advanced command and control capabilities across the Department of the Air Force, bringing deep expertise in how cutting edge technologies are engineered, secured, and delivered to the fight. At the center of this mission, the Common Mission Control Center (CMCC) unifies data, sensors, mission applications, cloud based services, and emerging AI enabled automation to give warfighters a decisive edge—turning complex, multidomain information into fast, clear, and actionable decisions in the moments that matter most. The CMCC System Facilitator contract positions SAIC to accelerate how new capabilities are integrated, tested, secured, and transitioned into operational use, working side by side with operators, engineers, Capability Providers, and government teams to ensure every delivery strengthens mission readiness. This effort offers the chance to directly shape how the Air Force sees, decides, and acts across all domains—making a tangible and immediate impact on warfighter effectiveness.

SAIC is seeking an On Site System Integrator to support the CMCC System Facilitator mission, enabling rapid deployment of mission applications and capability updates across operational environments. This role ensures secure, consistent, and repeatable delivery of software by operating Rancher/Kubernetes clusters, containerized workloads, GitLab driven pipelines, and Linux based systems directly on site.

Job Duties include:

  • Execute on‑site environment setup, configuration validation, mission‑application deployment, and readiness checks across CMCC environments.
  • Operate and maintain Rancher‑managed Kubernetes clusters, Docker/OCI containers, Linux systems, and GitLab CI/CD runners to ensure infrastructure stability.
  • Deploy mission capabilities via GitLab pipelines; validate manifests, images, dependencies, and resource readiness before activation.
  • Troubleshoot issues across Kubernetes, containers, networking, Linux, and pipeline execution; drive root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate deployment sequencing with DSOP, Platform, Test, PMO, and WLT teams to ensure alignment with SIP/CCB entrance criteria.
  • Maintain rollback readiness (artifacts, snapshots, procedures) and support cutover/rollback operations during mission events.
  • Contribute to cloud‑ready patterns, such as Helm‑based deployments, GitOps workflows, API‑driven configuration, and IaC/CaC standardization, preparing CMCC for future cloud transition.
  • Document on‑site procedures, environment readiness checklists, deployment SOPs, and support continuous improvement toward automated, cloud‑aligned delivery.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more of related experience; OR Masters and twelve (12) years or more of related experience; OR PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more of related experience
  • TS/SCI clearance and US citizenship
  • DoD 8140/8570 baseline certification requirements for the role (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or equivalent)
  • Hands on experience with Kubernetes (Rancher strongly preferred), Docker/OCI containers, and Linux administration.
  • Experience deploying mission applications or capability bundles into containerized and clusterbased operational environments.
  • Proficiency with GitLab CI/CD, pipeline troubleshooting, and promotion workflows.
  • Functional experience with IaC/CaC frameworks (Terraform, Ansible, Helm) for provisioning, configuration baselines, and deployment automation.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability across cluster health, containers, networking, runtime issues, and deployment failures.
  • Desired qualifications and experience:
  • Experience supporting cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, Platform One, or SC2S) or contributing to cloud‑migration planning.
  • Familiarity with GitOps workflows, image signing, SBOM/SCA scanning, or DevSecOps security practices.
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
