SAIC is seeking an experienced Principal Test Engineer to join our team in support of BAE Systems on the Air Force's Sentinel Program at Hill Air Force Base. This role supports the acquisition, development, and testing of the next-generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) weapon system for Sentinel one of the most significant national security priorities.
As part of the Integration Support Contract (ISC) team, you will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, prime contractors, and government stakeholders. This is a unique opportunity to lead developmental and operational testing efforts in one of the nation's most important programs.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Develop and validate test strategies and documentation that align with Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. Air Force (USAF) requirements.
- Collaborate with range safety teams and support flight test readiness for the Sentinel weapon system.
- Conduct ground and full-system integration testing, as well as support the government-led Integrated Test Team (ITT).
- Coordinate with multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to define, develop, and execute Sentinel Test Programs.
- Review technical deliverables, including Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), and ensure compliance with program requirements.
- Facilitate test readiness reviews and contribute to ensuring safe, efficient test operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (ABET-accredited) in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred but not required.
Minimum of 9+ years of experience in systems engineering, systems integration, and/or test engineering (7+ years with a Master's degree).
Active Secret clearance is required. Top Secret/SCI eligibility is highly desirable.
Expertise in leading test and engineering efforts and delivering solutions to complex problems.
Understanding of USAF Integrated Test Programs (per AFI 99-103).
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with DoD acquisitions programs and relevant processes.
Knowledge of or experience with Digital Engineering or Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts.
Skilled in systems engineering tools like Cameo Enterprise Architecture and DOORS for requirements management.
Experience with telemetry systems, instrumentation, flight termination systems, and range safety requirements (e.g., AF-MAN 91-710).
