SAIC is seeking a highly experienced and technically skilled individual to join our Program Management team as a Program Management Team Manager (PM) in Crane, Indiana supporting our Combat and Strategic Systems Operation at our customer site. 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of programs to our customers, managing performance of tasks and projects as part of larger programs, and integrating activities in accordance with contract requirements. 

In support of our customer SAIC provides engineering for the development, acquisition, assessment, and sustainment of Warfighter-centric and integrated munitions systems. This includes applied research and development, requirements management, acquisition engineering, functional and acceptance testing of munitions, environmental testing, material and chemical analysis, non-destructive investigations (NDI), service life evaluation and extension, inventory management of munitions, Weapons Systems Safety, and outdoor range support.

Independence: The Program Management Team Manager will occasionally be reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall quality and content by Program Oversight.

Personnel Management of Program Staff: The candidate will possess maturing leadership and management skills and will provide input to management on performance reviews, compensation actions, and staffing recommendations.

Business Development Support: The role includes contributing to a business development plan, assisting in re-compete capture strategies, and identifying potential growth opportunities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and integrate program activities to ensure technical, schedule, cost, and financial performance meet contract requirements.
  • Define and contribute to the program baseline, executing the program to comply with baseline requirements.
  • Manage risks, customer relationships, and program staffing effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and escalate challenges to SAIC leadership as needed.
  • Support business development and program staff management, including planning, developing, and implementing the program baseline.
  • Identify and analyze minor variances and define corrective actions in coordination with Program Oversight.
  • Be the primary customer interface for technical, management, and contract matters, information sharing, and moderate problem resolution.
  • Lead a medium-sized program staff, which may include subcontractors or suppliers, and conduct financial discussions in coordination with internal cross-functional teams.
  • Use standard, well-defined processes, procedures, techniques, or tools, with potential program-specific modifications.
  • Provide input on performance reviews, compensation-related actions, and staffing and hiring recommendations.
  • Escalate and resolve minor program and personnel issues in coordination with Management, Human Resources, and Program Oversight.
  • Contribute to a business development plan to protect the current program and assist in forming re-compete capture strategies.
  • Identify potential selling opportunities related to future growth beyond the current account and identify opportunity-buying influences.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of related experience; equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance required.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to mentor and receive periodic feedback from supervisors.
  • Experience managing program execution, including financial discussions and quality compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage medium-sized program staff and subcontractors or suppliers.
  • Strong customer relationship management skills and the ability to resolve minor issues independently.
