SAIC is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to join our Lead Systems Integrator (LSI) Team in supporting the Department of the Air Force Integrated Fires Command and Control (DIFC2) program of record. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, proven leadership skills, and a track record of developing solutions in classified systems and high-security environments. This position requires exceptional technical project management skills and the ability to balance and adjust work priorities to meet short deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
The Scrum Master will:
•    Facilitate key agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring operational efficiency and team alignment.
•    Provide expertise on continuous process improvement strategies, organizational redesign, change management projects, and performance measures for business process engagements.
•    Define and develop business processes, policies, roles and responsibilities, and performance metrics to streamline team performance and ensure effective collaboration.
•    Conduct comprehensive analysis of business processes, including current state analysis, gap analysis, benchmarking, best practices identification, and organizational assessments.
•    Plan and implement process improvements, including future state design, change management, and transition planning.
•    Partner with cross-functional technical and business teams to define and document system requirements, such as program functions, output needs, input data acquisition, and system techniques and controls.
•    Provide oversight for quality programs, systems, processes, and procedures, ensuring compliance with policies, standards, and governmental regulations, while identifying opportunities for performance optimization.
•    Communicate performance and quality assurance metrics, defects, and issues to stakeholders through tools, ensuring clear documentation and collaboration.
•    Guide the team in developing solutions to complex technical and organizational challenges and continuously advocate Agile best practices and a mindset of continuous improvement.
•    Coordinate closely with customers, product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders, effectively managing risks, identifying impediments, and facilitating solutions.
•    Act as a servant-leader, mentoring team members on Agile principles and fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment.
•    Deliver presentations, conduct client interviews, and facilitate training on process improvements, measurement tools, change management strategies, and root cause analyses.
 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
•    Education & Experience:
•    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, and 9+ years of relevant experience
•    Master's degree and 7 years or more experience OR PhD and 4+ years of experience (preferred)
•    Clearance:
•    U.S. Citizenship required
•    Must hold an active DOD Top Secret/ SCI or be SCI Eligible.  

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Certifications
Experience:
•    Proven track record working as a Scrum Master for agile teams (3–5+ years) in enterprise-level, fast-paced, and high-security environments.
•    Previous experience leading Department of Defense (DoD) technical project teams and delivering solutions within classified systems.
•    Experience with military command and control (C2) systems.
•    Familiarity working with agile product teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
•    Hands-on experience in process analysis, including gap assessment, benchmarking, and organizational design.
Skills and Competencies:
•    Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban) and practices.
•    Excellent facilitation, communication, and conflict resolution skills to manage high-performing teams and foster a collaborative culture.
•    Proficiency in tracking project progress and defining metrics, such as burndown charts, velocity reports, and performance dashboards.
•    Experience using agile tools, including Jira, Trello, Confluence, or similar platforms, to document, track, and manage projects.
•    Ability to balance and prioritize competing deadlines and manage risks effectively.
•    Technical knowledge related to system architecture and software development processes (preferred).
Certifications (preferred):
•    Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) – Scrum Alliance
•    Professional Scrum Master I, II, or III (PSM) – Scrum.org
•    Certified SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) – Scaled Agile
•    Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) – Project Management Institute
•    Project Management Professional (PMP) – Optional
