SAIC is seeking an experienced leader that can foster teambuilding, establish relationships, and has a high business acumen to support in growing a diverse portfolio across NAVSEA's Surface Warfare Centers. The Account Director aligns to the Navy Business Group (NBG) and supports the Combat and Strategic Systems (CSS) Market Leader. This position is located in Crane/Bedford, IN and is 100% onsite.
The Director will maintain a ratio of 75%/25% direct/indirect funding split between customer facing requirements and indirect tasking, up to and including portfolio management, enterprise growth initiatives, opportunity identification/development and strategic growth initiatives.
The Account Director is responsible for:
- Supporting the Market Vice President in driving internal and external growth of their portfolio and be able to execute sound judgement that aligns to the market strategy and as defined by SAIC guidelines and policies.
- Leading multiple program managers with a variety of programs focusing on engineering services and professional services in support of complex missions
- Position oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
- Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
- Responsible for ensuring contract requirements and subcontractor responsibilities are being accomplished including working on the definition and implementation of project planning techniques to provide visibility on the contract.
- Responsibilities may include developing budgets and schedules to meet contractual/project requirements for an assigned portion of a program, participating in and establishing and defining program plan requirements, and monitoring and reporting performance against plans to ensure that contractual, cost and schedule objectives are met.
Duties to include:
- Assisting in identifying, qualifying, and capturing opportunities for a robust pipeline focused within the Strategic System and Spectrum Warfare focal areas that supports the Navy Business Group growth objectives.
- Communicating resource needs and leveraging resources assigned is critical to the success of every capture manager; collaborating with subject and technical matter experts, functional leads, and Program Managers
- Creating a collaborating environment that supports multiplicity of thought and the intent to work across the entire SAIC Enterprise to bring the absolute best personnel and capabilities onboard to support the Navy's mission and objectives
- Coordinating with team members including PMs, technical leadership, and SMEs to build and execute call plans to ensure task execution is exceeding customer expectations and position SAIC for successful pursuits of future efforts
- Working closely with Program Managers to gather, assess, and validate customer requirements
- Assessing probable competition and evaluating relative strengths and threats well before opportunities are released to industry
- Collaborating effectively with internal teams and external partners to sustain operational excellence, resolve conflicts, and achieve customer satisfaction
- Identifying technical and facility gaps and develop strategies to overcome weaknesses and mitigate risks
- Supporting development of strategic teaming alliances with other entities supporting the Warfare Centers
- Briefing strategies and business metrics at the Market, Business Group, and Enterprise level meetings when needed
- Establishing Overhead, Capital Expenditures, and training budgets needed to support the long term strategy
- Ensuring compliance with ethical and quality standards and escalate challenges to SAIC leadership
- Working and executing quick responses to data calls and informational requests
Qualifications
Required Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher (preferred) and 20+ years of experience in relevant business, technical, or professional field of study
- 10 years of experience understanding and leading Profit & Loss
- 5+ years of experience with Naval Engineering and Integration
- 5 + years of experience developing relationships with NSWC leadership and technical leads at various locations
- Present sound business judgment, keen conceptual skills, intellectual discipline, self-confidence, imagination, well-developed management skills, and the personal ambition to play a major role in the growth and success of a high technology company with a strong heritage for high quality and responsive service to its clients
- Demonstrate the ability to influence constructively and interact at the highest levels of the corporate structure
- Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and business acumen
- Experience dealing with senior executives; ability to work effectively in fast-paced, time-sensitive, and often multi-tasking environment
- Ability to travel, as necessary in support of the Account or Enterprise (around 20% of the time)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- US Citizenship required
