SAIC is seeking a highly qualified Senior Specialty Engineer to serve as the technical and management lead for complex engineering projects, including those involving Foreign Military Sales (FMS). This role is responsible for all technical aspects of assigned projects, from conceptualization through system integration and evaluation, while also managing program activities, international stakeholder coordination, and milestone readiness. The ideal candidate will provide expert technical guidance, lead Integrated Product Teams, and ensure project success by balancing technical requirements, cost, and schedule. This position is 100% remote (work from home).
The Senior Specialty Engineer will be responsible for a wide range of technical and management tasks, including but not limited to:
- Serving as the primary contributor in the application of engineering and scientific principles to meet technical requirements.
- Developing technical concepts, planning for implementation, monitoring technical progress, and developing solutions to complex technical problems.
- Conducting planning, management, and oversight of all assigned program activities.
- Accomplishing system integration and problem-solving by organizing, facilitating, and leading Integrated Product/Process Teams (IPTs).
- Authoring, editing, and contributing to the production of technical reports, test plans, and overall project concepts.
- Participating in the development of Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP), Performance Specifications (P-Spec), and other milestone documentation.
- Performing independent evaluations of technical or process problems and participating in root cause analyses.
- Reviewing industrial base facilitization efforts and developing cost-savings initiatives.
- Coordinate with international stakeholders on project requirements and status.
- Complete new and existing Requests for Information (RFIs) to support international partners.
- Gather required information and cost estimates for FMS cases, coordinate work, write concurrence letters, and assist with writing PM Position Memos.
- Research and apply International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) Exceptions.
- Coordinate, review, and submit items for Foreign Disclosure Review and Public Release.
- Attend international meetings, take detailed notes, and track resulting action items.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree and fourteen (14) years' experience; additional four (4) years' experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
Required Clearance:
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret security clearance; Active Interim Secret to start; US Citizenship required.
Required Skills:
- Must have at least five (5) years of demonstrated experience managing a professional staff.
- Proven experience with system conceptualization, requirements definition, and system test and evaluation.
- Extensive experience developing milestone documentation, performing root cause analyses, and leading IPTs.
- Familiarity with probability, reliability, statistical analysis methods, and data collection techniques.
Target salary range: $200,001 - $240,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
