Description

SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer for the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) major systems. This program will be part of a transformative venture, driving the future of next generation ice-breakers and enhancing the Navy and Coast Guard's polar mission effectiveness in response to evolving strategic and environmental demands.

This position is contingent upon award news expected November of 2025. Work will be performed onsite in Pascagoula, MS. Must be local to the area. 

Duties:

  • Perform Systems Engineering of stage 4 and 5 test procedures development and test execution project for USCG Polar Support Cutter C5ISR systems.
  • Plan and delivery of high-quality Systems Engineering deliverables including contract CDRLS in support of program requirements. 
  • Develop, update, and maintian project Systems Engineering documents including stage 4 and 5 test procedures for C5ISR systems. 
  • Communicate to assigned Program Manager all key project plans, and engineering changes including requirements, C5ISR systems configurations and status, schedule, and scope changes. 
  • Maintain and enhance all project engineering processes and workflows. 
  • Develop, document and revise project engineering processes and quality standards. 
  • Collaborates across all functions within project. 
  • Assess engineering change proposals and document risks and impacts to project milestones and deliverables.
  • Continuously improve execution processes. 
  • Support the proactive identification and mitigation of risks . 
  • Communicate assigned Systems Engineering plans and status, and escalate issues as required. 
  • Provide status of project tasks and milestones
  • Works with the multidisciplinary technical team to ensure successful shipboard industrial test procedures development and testing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree with five  (5) years or more with Naval or related electronics and communications equipment and systems projects experience;
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) - IA Level II - Security+ certification, or CISSP or equivalent.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Valid US Passport

 Desired Qualification and Experience:

  • Three (3) years as a System Engineer of Naval or related electronics and communications equipment and systems projects
  • Proficiency of Microsoft Office suit.
  • Proficient Soft Skills for engaging with individuals in person, on phone and in written mediums.
  • Familiar with C4ISR/C5ISR Interface Control Documents, Block diagrams, and Functional Interface Drawings.  
  • Experience with MIL-STD-2106 Development of Shipboard Industrial Test procedures
  • Specific experience with shipboard Communication Cabinets, Gyrocompass Systems, Integrated Briedge Systesm, Interior Communications (Alarms, Safety, Warning Systems), Military enhanced Global Positioning System, Navigation Data Distribution Systems, Unclass LAN, SIPRNET, and Surface Search Radar is highly desireable.
  • TS/SCI eligible
  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or equivalent
  • CompTIA Network+ certification
  • Professional Engineer or Engineer In Training Certification (EIT)
