SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer Principal to support software sustainment activities for the B-52H System Program Office (SPO) and Mission Planning Environment. This role requires expertise in military aircraft systems and software, with a focus on collaboration, problem-solving, and facilitating technical discussions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide software engineering expertise for B-52H software block cycle updates, including OAS, CONECT, and targeting pod integration.
- Assess and report on software maintenance performance, design efficiency, integration, and testing approaches.
- Review and analyze software documentation (e.g., SSS, SRS, IDD, SRD) and engineering data.
- Participate in requirements, design, and test procedure peer reviews, providing technical feedback.
- Attend technical and programmatic reviews, weekly Software Configuration Control Boards (SCCB), and Test and Fielding Configuration Control Boards.
- Analyze problem reports and provide recommendations for schedule execution and risk management.
- Support advanced testing methodologies in lab and aircraft environments.
- Facilitate meetings and discussions to drive technical solutions and program objectives.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 5 years working with military aircraft systems and software.
- Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Visio).
- Familiarity with Agile development processes, Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS), and Technical Orders (TOs).
- Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and facilitation abilities.
- Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
Desired Experience:
- Aircraft and lab testing experience.
- Familiarity with B-52H or B-1B software/hardware.
