SAIC has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Software Engineer to join a high-performance team. This role supports the Consolidated Copayment Processing Center (CCPC) Debt Management (DM2) system and serves as the central technical and operational lead responsible for the creation, accuracy, and timely delivery of monthly Veteran Copayment Statements. This role produces more than one million statements per month and ensures that Veteran-facing billing communications remain accurate, timely, compliant, and aligned with evolving policies and system changes—including critical updates driven by Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) releases.
This position directly supports the VA's ability to communicate billing changes, deliver specialized correspondence, and ensure continuity of debt-management operations.
This is a 100% Remote role.
Job Description
Serve as primary developer responsible for generating the full monthly cycle of Veteran Copayment Statements for CCPC Debt Management (DM2), impacting more than one million Veterans.
Develop, maintain, and execute production code used to generate copayment statements, billing notifications, and specialized inserts conveying policy or system changes.
Ensure timely delivery of billing communications, including letters and statement-level messaging related to billing updates, regulatory changes, or EHRM rollout impacts.
Establish, manage, and monitor statement‑generation workflows to ensure accuracy, reliability, and completion within defined production schedules.
Identify, diagnose, and resolve data issues, formatting errors, generation failures, or production anomalies that could delay statement delivery.
Collaborate with business owners, billing specialists, and policy stakeholders to integrate required language changes, disclaimers, debt‑collection information, or EHRM‑driven updates into monthly communications.
Provide ongoing operations support, including daily monitoring, issue escalation, quality checks, and validation of outputs prior to distribution.
Maintain documentation for statement logic, production processes, communication templates, and release changes.
Support development and operational readiness for upcoming EHRM‑related releases that impact VA debt‑collection workflows, coordinating with VA and Oracle Health technical teams.
Provide continuity of service and ensure uninterrupted delivery of Veteran communications, preventing gaps that could affect billing accuracy or compliance.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, systems engineering, or related technical discipline.
Training or experience in VA billing systems, debt management workflows, or Veteran‑facing communications is desirable.
Experience:
8 years of experience working with VA CCPC DM2 systems.
8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
Experience developing or supporting production code for large‑scale financial, billing, or statement‑generation systems.
Background in high‑volume print or electronic statement production environments.
Experience supporting VA billing systems, CCPC, or debt management processes is highly preferred.
Familiarity with EHRM‑related system transitions, especially those impacting billing or debt‑collection functions.
Requirements

Ability to anticipate operational impacts of system changes and maintain continuity of critical monthly communications.
Clearance Requirement
US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
