SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer responsible for both Software and Hardware engineering that supports a Project at our customer location in Hanahan, SC.  This position is 100% onsite.  

The prospective candidate needs to have an extensive familiarity with Software Engineering but will also be required to integrate into an overall Engineering position to complete both Software and Hardware Engineering related tasks.  This individual will have multiple duties and will be required to:

  • Set up and maintain a working Integration Lab to test and troubleshoot issues with current and new JBC-P/MMC-S software builds as well as the interoperability with various other affiliated systems.
  • Develop Test Plans based on provided requirements.
  • Participate in all Testing Events, both locally and out of the Area.
  • Engage with and assist the Software Tester during Software Testing.
  • Assist with the development, updating and validation of Project Documents such as Test Incident Reports (TIR), Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM), Software Verification Reports (SVR), Initial and Final Product Baselines (iPBLs/fPBLs).
  • Learn, understand and participate in the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) Process and ultimately develop ECP related documents.
  • Learn, understand and participate in the Physical Configuration Audit (PCA) Process and ultimately develop PCA related documents.
  • Learn the Hardware element of the BFT System including all components for the various platforms as well as their interoperability.
  • Ability to research and provide updates on new Hardware components for future System development and progression.  
  • Thoroughly understand and gain an in-depth knowledge of all Project Drawings and Drawing Structure.  The individual will not be required to physically make changes to the Drawings, i.e. Drafting.
  • Participate in weekly/biweekly meetings and effectively communicate project status to stakeholders.  Ability to work well within a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Understand how to capture and report risk across Engineering areas.
  • Participate and vote in monthly Local Change Review Board meetings.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience.
  • Certified in accordance with DoDD 8570.1 Information Assurance Technician I and subject to meeting subsequent requirements of latest DoD 8140 manual
  • Security+ Certification.
  • Must be a US Citizen with an ACTIVE secret clearance.
