As the Maintenance Mechanic for Savage you will be implementing and maintaining the Savage Maintenance Program and safely operating heavy machinery, such as excavators and loaders, to handle coal at the Point Tupper Marine Terminal, if needed. These are just a few of the benefits you can expect from working with Savage Uniforms are provided (Laundered) Temporary position through April Opportunities for Growth Here is what you will be doing Properly record and complete maintenance reports and service records Experience with pumps Maintain and report spare parts inventory Complete PM services on plant and process equipment May operate several pieces of equipment that will help move, stock pile, and prepare coal for distribution May operate any one of the following on a daily basis: a Cat 988 Loader, Volvo L350F, skid steer, e-crane, EC140 excavator and water truck Assist the operation with other tasks deemed necessary to meet customer expectations; i.e. maintenance, clean up Perform thorough pre and post-trip inspections Maintain cleanliness of equipment and conveyors Expand personal knowledge of maintenance for conveyors, e-crane and operating equipment Repair maintenance issue's Understands our critical service requirements and see they are met Take an active role in our safety program including attendance to all safety meetings and ensure safe behaviors Requirements of a successful Maintenance Mechanic Understand and implement the Savage Maintenance Program Knowledge of rigging Extensive experience operating large pieces of heavy equipment Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English Mechanical background with conveyor systems and yellow equipment Class 1 or Class 3 license preferred Red Seal Industrial Mechanic Certification preferred Here are some of the physical requirements of this role Team Members are routinely required to work outdoors and as a result are exposed to the elements Physically able to handle large tools and equipment (50 lbs.)
