We are the leading provider of fully integrated systems, designed and operated to solve unique logistics and materials management challenges for industrial companies throughout North America.  Major Purpose: The Maintenance Technician at Savage's Sweeny TX Facility will be responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of equipment used at the facility. Responsibilities / Job Duties:  Perform minor/major repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance on mobile equipment, conveyors, bridge crane and pickups, at our Savage Sweeny facility. Assists with other facility mechanical repairs as necessary. Maintain shop cleanliness and parts inventory. Learn and partner with the Maintenance Supervisor to utilize the CMMS system as a tool of organization and preventative maintenance record keeping. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with regulatory requirements. Follow proper safety rules, maintenance and operating procedures. Assist with writing and revising maintenance procedures as needed. Support other areas of the operation, as deemed by the Maintenance Supervisor, even in areas outside typical maintenance duties. Requirements/Qualifications: Experience troubleshooting and repairing mobile equipment, bridge crane, pickups and conveyors. Experience in identifying and diagnosing needed repairs by computer-based systems, being able to visually recognize problems a big plus. Has an invested interest in facility safety. Be able to read, write and understand English and follow written and/or verbal instructions. Welding experience a plus. Willingness to do a significant amount of preventative maintenance. Prepared to help with anything requiring attention, as directed by the facility leadership. Environmental awareness. Able to lift 50 lbs. Knowledge and experience using a CMMS is helpful. Excellent communication skills. Effective interfacing with internal leadership, direct reports, external vendors and other team members. TWIC Required. Self-starter capable of working independently, in line with company goals, strategies and policies. Ability to be on call at designated times, work weekends and night shift when required. Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and carry critical projects to completion. A strong record of continuous improvement, personal development and attention to detail. The chosen candidate will have a value system that will embrace our culture. Education/Experience: Prior experience as a mobile equipment mechanic, conveyors, bridge crane and pickups required. Certifications preferred but not required. Physical Requirements: Will be on your feet for extended period of time throughout the day. Navigating the facility will include, but is not limited to, exposure to harsh weather conditions, uneven ground, ladders, racks and other high places, ground that can be slick or uneven, and other industrial hazards. The work site is an industrial setting and will require someone who can work safely around this type of environment, as well as ensure compliance with strict OSHA and State regulations. #IND1
