The Safety Technician supports the execution of environmental, health, and safety programs to help maintain a safe and compliant work environment. This role performs routine inspections, assists with training and incident investigations, and supports safety documentation and compliance activities under established procedures and guidance.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Conduct routine safety inspections of facilities, equipment, and work practices to identify hazards and potential non-compliance.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of safety programs, policies, and procedures such as Lockout/Tagout, confined space entry, fall protection, and emergency preparedness.
  • Deliver safety orientation and training to new and existing partners using established materials and guidance.
  • Assist with workplace incident, accident, and near-miss investigations by gathering information and supporting root cause analysis.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, including inspection reports, incident documentation, training records, and safety data sheets (SDS).
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA and other applicable safety standards and assist with preparation for regulatory inspections.
  • Partner with production, maintenance, and other teams to promote safe work practices and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and support proactive safety initiatives.
  • Inspect and help maintain safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and emergency showers.
  • Promote safe behaviors through communication, observation, and positive reinforcement.
  • Follow established safety procedures and seek guidance when unfamiliar situations arise.
  • Maintain required training, certifications, and knowledge through ongoing learning.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or coursework in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Entry‑level professional experience supporting safety activities in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations and general safety standards.
  • Ability to identify hazards and follow established procedures to address safety concerns.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills to work with partners across the facility.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while following defined processes.
  • Ability to perform physical inspections, including walking, standing, climbing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 10/30) are a plus.
