In an effort not to get lost among all the other ads, I am not going to bore you with the basics like where we are, what activities there are in the area, that we have all the latest equipment and practice the highest level of medicine, blah, blah, blah (If that is actually the most important part to you, it's at the bottom!)
What you really want to know:
*Up to 200K+/year based on experience PLUS Relocation and signing bonus.
*We do offer Pro-Sal if so desired – putting you in control of even more earnings.

* 4-day work week (also negotiable), NO ON CALL!
* 4 weeks PTO (16 days based on the 4-day work week), increases to 6 weeks after the second year. PTO days/weeks do not apply to pro-Sal (so you actually get those days off and don't have to worry about making up the difference. Can you tell we have worked on Pro-Sal personally?)
*$500 allowance toward health insurance per month starting on day one.
*All in house vet care/supplies at no cost for up to 2 personally owned pets (cats and dogs only).

What you should know:
Shadow Ridge Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care is currently a 1+ DVM non-corporate, owner operated practice, adding two more excellent full-time Veterinarians. We currently have 1 full time DVM, 1 part time DVM and 2 regular relief DVM's. We have no turn over in doctors and virtually no turnover in support staff. We really are the Google of veterinary practices.
Our primary doctor/owner has 23 years of experience, 6 in GP only, 13 in ER and GP, 4 in GP/Urgent Care.
We are a GP/Urgent care facility and we LOVE to mentor the absolute best medicine. This is our second practice as owners, so while we do have a proven success model, we also have a genuine appreciation for the knowledge of more and experienced doctors who simply “just have a better way.” We know that there is a priceless collaboration that comes from a multi-doctor practice and fully expect to support and learn from each other every day.
We have 15 support staff for our practice and there are typically 8 support staff per day. This DVM to staff ratio allows the doctor to focus directly on “Best Medicine.”
We are very flexible with schedule, salary, responsibilities, and benefits. We know that there is no “one size fits all” model and want to tailor a position to the right candidate. We believe that you have to love your work, to excel in your work. We don't want anyone to ever wake up and dread coming in……. We've been there and that doesn't benefit anyone!
We are a fast-paced practice, but that does not stop the fun, laughter and banter amongst the staff, administration, and doctor(s). NOTICE: We joke around and curse A LOT. Much of it is actually expected as a condition of employment and will be graded for context & originality! If that offends you, we are NOT the right practice for you.

Shadow Ridge Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care ABSOLUTELY does not tolerate abusive clients. You will never feel like the managerial team doesn't have your back. We firmly believe that this profession is way too stressful to have to deal with poor behavior from any of our clients (and staff too for that matter). 99% of our clients are awesome folks who genuinely want the best for their pets. However, those that don't respect us and our expertise are invited to go elsewhere.

Now, that boring stuff that everyone puts in, and everyone else just skims over.
We are the undisputed, most modern, state-of-the-art facility in our area with digital x-ray, full IH labs including digital cytology, digital dental rads, digital ultrasound, vessel sealer, gas sterilization, brand new computer network with the latest server - running the fastest & latest version of Cornerstone (just to name a few). We maintain a visiting boarded surgeon for those complicated surgery cases, and he's actually a pretty cool guy! Walking into our practice is more like walking into your own doctor/dentist office, NOT a barn. We have an excellent, full-time hospital technician who keeps the building sparkling clean and stocked with client amenities. She personally sees to it that all of our patients are treated like her own while in the hospital. Our inventory specialist does an excellent job of keeping plenty of viable inventory on hand, with weekly deliveries. We pride ourselves on practicing the highest possible level of medicine and posted a 97.84% client retention rate last year because of it. All surgeries are required (except cat neuters) to get IV catheters and IV fluids. In addition, ALL surgical patients experience fluid warmers, a heated surgical table, bair huggers and pain medication (pre-op and post-op as standard operating procedure and anything less than that is NOT NEGOTIABLE.) We do work VERY well with the local ER to send/receive referrals when necessary.
We are located in the heart of the picturesque Piedmont Mountains, in a lovely little community called Connelly Springs, Burke County, North Carolina. We are just off exit 113 of the I-40 corridor, between Hickory and Morganton, about an hour west of Charlotte and an hour east of Asheville. We are about 3 hours from the Carolina shores. There are many outdoor activities available, kayaking, white water rafting, hiking, boating, horseback riding, shooting sports, beautiful spas and golfing, etc. Being an hour out of Charlotte and Asheville allows you to take advantage of big city activities and live/work in a safer, more suburban environment. Bear in mind that Charlotte is the fastest growing city in America, where the Queen City's professional athletics and world class cultural activities are easily accessible. It has a flourishing downtown with local merchants selling antiques, boutique clothing, fine jewelry and unique gifts. When we moved into the area, we were told that Charlotte grows about 10 miles/year.
