Position Summary:
Packages materials and products manually by performing the work/packaging instructions specified for each product or part. Visually verifies that parts and or finished products are in compliance with SIG SAUER's quality standards.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
*Regular on-site attendance/punctuality is a necessary function of this position.
*Efficiently/effectively gather packing materials that are correct to the bill of materials, verify serial numbers, complete necessary paperwork, and operate barcode scanners.
*Wraps protective material around product as required.
*Pack and process finished materials and move them to appropriate staging areas within the warehouse.
*Update the company operating system to perform movement of material, and any other functions required to perform job duties.
*Visually inspects materials, products, and containers at each step of packaging process.
*Records information such as Serial Number, weight, time, and date packaged.
*Communicates any issues with the Packing Lead, and/or Supervisor in order to resolve the issue in a timely manner.
*Seek and act upon ways to improve daily work processes to enhance quality and productivity.
*Participate in 5S Workplace organizational activities and maintain the area in good working order through sustainment activities.
*May be required to work in other functional areas and/or facilities depending on business needs.
*May be required to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
*Participate in all required activities, and other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience & Skills:
*High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
*Typically requires no previous experience.
*Must be able to read and understand work instructions in English.
*Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is preferred.
*Ability to accurately perform basic data entry information when processing packed parts and product.
*Proficient in basic math.
*Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment sharing information, respecting, and assisting other team members.
Working Conditions:
*Regularly perform repetitive tasks
*Work is primarily standing (90 + % of the shift) with the exception of lunch and break periods.
*Shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours.
*Standing, sitting, stooping/squatting, walking and stair climbing can be expected along with frequent lifting and/or moving of tooling, parts, containers, and materials up to 40 pounds.
*Must be able to reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel frequently at a minimum 50% of the shift, as well as undergo repetitive wrist, hand, elbow, shoulder, and ankle motions.
*Must demonstrate proficient fine motor skills, ability to grip, reach, pull, turn, and use tools in the packing of assembled product.
*Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception, and ability to focus on fine print.
*Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
*Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates.
