Acts as a role model and change agent to support organizational growth through all aspects of human resources from sourcing to retirement. 

 Key responsibilities for this role include: 

  • Create an engaging and positive work environment by delivering all elements of HR programs and processes, such as compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, engagement, employee relations, training & development, compliance, and environmental, health & safe 
  • Acts as a partner and confidant to the General Manager, leadership team, and employees 
  • Be an advocate to all employees, ensuring the team lives within Smyth's guiding principles of integrity, positive workplace, operational excellence, creativity, and final responsibility, maximizing the potential of all employees 
  • Proactive and engaging partner to ensure smooth facilitation of human resource programs and process, in support of the growth of the business 
  • Be a partner to the EVP/CHRO and a peer leader within the HR team 

The ideal candidate must demonstrate:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Experience working with multiple facets of an organization (Production, Sales, Customer Service) 
  • Problem-solving skills, resolving challenging and multifaceted issues 
  • Ability to influence without authority, drive change, and enable business results 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Outlook, Excel, and Word 
  • Project management skills 

Education, Experience, and Credentials 

  • High School degree or equivalent, 4-year degree required 
  • Minimum of 5-years as an HR business partner role required 
  • Human Resources Certification preferred 
  • Experience in manufacturing and print industry is preferred 
  • English a must; multi-lingual preferred
  • Travel required (alternate locations near Chicago, IL; Minneapolis, MN; Green Bay, WI)
