About SBMF:

Our Past:

  • Dr. Carl Culbertson, staff pathologist, headed a study that was part of a national investigation of a new cervical cancer test – the PAP test
  • One of the first facilities in the nation to go entirely to Thin-Prep for cervical cancer screening
  • Served as a total pilot and beta test organization for HPV screening
  • Adopted the newest technology to utilize automated pre-screening in 2002

Our Present:

  • Our Cytotechs screen both non-gyn's and gyns
  • Extremely active relationships with 3 major hospitals performing on-site EBUS procedures and navigational bronchoscopies
  • Brand new work-space – new building with private offices for screening staff

Seeking: Cytotechnologist to work in our multi-specialty pathology practice. Responsibilities include:

  • Examining both gyn and non-gyn cytology samples
  • FNA collections and ROSE assessments using telepathology on EBUS, Navigational and Monarch bronchoscopies and FNA procedures

South Bend, Indiana is in the heart of a bustling university community and is conveniently located within 2 hours of Chicago and less than 1 hour from beautiful Lake Michigan. 

Must be: Qualified as a Cytotechnologist under CFR 493.1483 with certification as a Cytotechnologist by an appropriate accrediting agency i.e., ASCP or equivalent. (Prefer Bachelor's Degree). Must possess an active, current driver's license for travel to our various client-hospital locations.
